What is required in order to rent a buggy?
1. Be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license. License written in English language or international drivers license.
2. Personal automobile insurance, (Full Coverage). Which includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), damages to buggy and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), 3rd party damages. For additional auto insurance or if you do not have insurance, we use Rental Cover. Easy to purchase online. It is under $30 for the Collision Damage Waiver and Supplemental Liability Insurance, combined. You will need both if you have no insurance. Both insurances can be purchased from: (Purchase seperately on website).
3. Be present at the time of the rental to complete contract.
4. All drivers must be registered on the rental contract.
5. Must be able to drive a stick shift/manual transmission. Unless booking "HONU" or "LAVA" automatic buggies.
6. One registered driver will also need to Authorize Use of a credit card for purchase of optional insurance policy deductibles, if accident occurs and /or any other incidentals.
7. Require at least 48 hours notice for a full refund.
Can the Buggy be taken off road?
No, our buggies are only allowed on paved roadways and parking lots. Our buggies are equipped with GPS tracking devices, so we will be notified as soon as the buggy enters onto a dirt or lava road. There is a $500.00 charge for attempting "off road" excursions.
How Many People Can Fit in a Buggy?
We offer 2 and 4 seater options for your convenience. Blue Mako has SMALLER FRONT AND SMALLER REAR BENCH SEAT. Lap belts. Not recommended for larger adults or child seats.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
1. Cancellation within 48 hours of your reservation are non-refundable.
2. For multiple day rentals, a non-refundable deposit of $209.42 will be charged and will be applied towards the balance at the time of your rental.
3. Due to inclement weather, we would make a decision for the refund the day of the rental. Please keep in mind that showers and storms will normally blow in and out quickly.
Occupants Physical Limitations
Not recommended for individuals with difficulty lifting leg 30" (Max.) over side of buggy to be seated. There are no doors on the buggies.
Child Seats
Child seats can be used in Honu, Lava, Tiki and Tang buggies only. We do not supply child seats. We do have 2 booster seats available. Infants under 2yrs. must be in rear-facing car seat with harness. Keiki (kids) 2yrs. but under 4 yrs. must be in either rear-facing or forward-facing car seat with harness. Keiki 4 yrs. but under 10 yrs. must be in a child safety seat or booster seat, unless the child is over 4'9" tall.
